“Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever! Let the redeemed of the Lord say so…”
Psalm 107:1-2

The Lord did an incredible work through Kershaw’s Challenge in 2015. We were amazed by the support and enthusiasm for our donors and friends. Thank you for making 2015 our best year yet. As we think towards a new year, we want to make sure that look back at all that was accomplished in 2015. Consider with us what the Lord has done…

Thanks to our supporters, fundraising was COMPLETED to build a second children’s home in Zambia.

We are really amazed at this this progress! In a matter of two years, land was purchased and a new house was underway. The Arise Africa staff has worked tirelessly to care for these home and most importantly the children who live in them. After 2015, we were able to fully fund the second home. Lord willing, plans are in place for the home to open in late summer 2016. These two homes will allow boys and girls to live in separate spaces, but still function as a loving family. We are so grateful for how the Lord has provided!

Thanks to our supporters, the Kershaw’s Challenge baseball field was completed in West Dallas!

This is amazing to consider: last year, a vacant lot stood in the middle of West Dallas. As of this spring, several new baseball fields are in place and ready for spring ball. One of those fields was completely funded by the supporters of Kershaw’s Challenge. We are grateful to the Lord for our friendship with Mercy Street. They run an incredible sports ministry that will use this new field to minister to children through sports. The field is beautiful…and we can’t wait to see baseball games for years to come in West Dallas!

Thanks to our supporters, 100 surgeries were performed, new staff put into place and a new x-ray machine was purchased for the CURE Hospital in the Dominican Republic.

After seeing this hospital for the first time, we were amazed at the transformational work that is taking place. It was our joy to contribute in such a significant way to CURE’s work in the Dominican Republic. Since the hospital provides treatment and surgeries regardless of a patient’s ability to pay, we loved the thought of stepping in. Our 2015 funds made a huge impact in the lives of children living in the DR. Furthermore, we were able to provide necessary additions—such as staffing position and a new digital x-ray machine, a much needed improvement!

Thanks to our supporters, 850 families were served through the Foster Care Intervention program in Los Angeles.

This is really a humbling number of families! The Dream Center works hard to meet the needs of families who are in desperate situations. Through the Foster Care Intervention program, families are receiving assistance (through furniture, clothing, food, etc.) that enables them to stay together as a family. We are so proud of the work of the Dream Center and feel like they are really on the front lines of critical change in L.A.
