Since we began in 2011, Kershaw’s Challenge has sought to serve vulnerable children worldwide. We believe that the Lord transforms communities and that He often uses the benevolence of others to meet great need. We feel called to serve in four specific areas that are close to our heart: Dallas, Los Angeles, Zambia and the Dominican Republic. In each of these areas, there is opportunity to serve and provide for children and families who are in need—physically and spiritually.
The need is great and we realize that we can’t do it alone. In 2017, we are excited to continue a Kershaw’s Challenge Partnership group. In addition to our annual beneficiaries, we would like to acknowledge other organizations who share the heartbeat of our mission to empower others and transform lives.
We desire to align ourselves with organizations who are like-minded. We aim to be faith-driven and others-focused and see the importance of surrounding ourselves with others who aim for the same.
In 2017, we are excited to high light the significant work of these organizations whom we consider to be our friends and partners in the quest of making life better for children. Check out their website to learn more about the work that they are doing!
Armour Up :: Dallas, Texas
For the past three years, we have partnered with this awesome group to host a father/son baseball event in our hometown. Armour Up is “a community based boys’ bible study that exists to bring glory to God by declaring the gospel, developing disciples of Christ, and demonstrating God’s love to others.” They share our heart for the community where we grew up: that young kids would come to know and love the Lord and demonstrate that love through friendships, service and even sports. We love this group and know that you will be encouraged by their work.
Mercy Street :: Dallas, Texas
Our friends at Mercy Street are part of the Lord’s amazing work in West Dallas. We know this ministry well and LOVE their continued efforts to make known the gospel through mentoring and sports. Our work with them has been a tremendous blessing to our organization and we are excited to continue supporting their mission. Through Mercy Street, we were able to contribute to a vision for new baseball fields for the inner-city kids. Check out their work and follow their efforts—what a GIFT this ministry is to the city of Dallas!
Children's Health/Children’s Medical Center ::
The city of Dallas is blessed by the presence and transforming efforts of Children’s. This children’s hospital serves the children in life-altering ways. We had the privilege of touring the hospital and visiting some patients. We were humbled and deeply encouraged by the staff of Children’s who seek to make life better for children in every way. Our hope is that we can continue to stand next to our friends at Children’s and seek ways TOGETHER to serve children in need.
