Kershaw’s Challenge is so excited to partner with Mercy Street, an organization that pours into the inner city of Dallas. Mercy Street would tell you that it “grew out of the desire to see a small pocket of poverty in Dallas - West Dallas - transformed by the gospel. Believing transformation best occurs in the context of relationship, we began Mercy Street with a mentoring program. Ultimately, we believe true and lasting change will be brought about by the residents of this community, but, sometimes an infusion of hope is needed from the outside. Following the pattern Christ established by dwelling among those he ministered to, Mercy Street seeks to be "incarnational" in our ministry efforts.”
We are so excited to join Mercy Street in their Sports Program. They believe that sports are an invaluable tool to reach the community of West Dallas with the Gospel. Each spring, Mercy Street participates in Little League baseball. Last year, over 270 kids participated. The players join the league, but often the team lacks appropriate equipment to play. Kershaw’s Challenge is excited to donate to this cause—equipping the ministry with baseballs and other necessary items.
Mercy Street is a tremendous blessing to the city of Dallas, the Kershaw’s hometown. Kershaw’s Challenge is looking forward to the season ahead and the beginning of a great friendship with Mercy Street.
